Live outside of Brisbane but want to Romp?

Fear not, we’ve got it covered!

Regional and interstate Rompers are eligible to go into extra prize draws, see details below.

Step 1: Book your accommodation

Mirvac Hotels and Resorts is a proud supporter of the inaugural Brisbane City Romp and has four of the best value hotels in the city, all of them just a stone’s throw from the Romp start.  What’s more, they’re offering a special discount for Rompers, when you book your accommodation on Romp weekend, simply tell them you’re entered in the Romp and give them your Romp team name and you’ll get a special Rompers rate.

Just select one of Mirvac Hotels and Resorts' “fabulous 4” options from the list below:

Step 2: Organise your transport

South East Queensland

TransLink provides one single public transport network covering South East Queensland from Gympie North/Noosa to Coolangatta and west to Helidon.

The new electronic go card allows you to travel seamlessly on TransLink services on buses, trains and ferries without the need to queue for a ticket or find cash.

For Translink’s fabulous Journey Planner, click here, simply enter where you’re going from and to and the Journey Planner will tell you all your public transport options, it’s really that simple!

Don’t forget that most train stations have Park’n’Ride facilities, so even if you don’t live super-close to a train station, you can do a short drive to the station, park your car and catch the train to Brisbane.  A great way to relax and avoid the hassles of city driving, PLUS you’re doing your bit for the environment.

Regional Queensland

There are many bus and train options from regional Queensland to Brisbane.  We’re expecting Romp teams to come from Toowoomba, Warwick, Roma, Hervey Bay, Gladstone, Mackay, Rocky, Emerald, Townsville, Cairns and Mt Isa, all of which are serviced by good public transport options.

Don’t forget that all teams who travel from more than 100km to participate in Brisbane City Romp will go in the draw for Heritage Building Society accounts worth $3,000!* (see prizes page for conditions).

Interstate

With 4 different airlines to choose from (Qantas, Jetstar, Virgin Blue and Tiger Airways), it’s often possible to secure a one-way ticket from Melbourne to Brisbane for well under $100.  So there’s no excuse not to make a weekend of it!  We’d recommend taking a long weekend and staying at least a couple of nights so that you can catch a show or footy match and get a bit more of a taste of beautiful Brisbane.

Upon arrival at Brisbane airport, you simply have to walk 200 metres to the train station where you can board the city express train that will get you into Brisbane quicker than a cab and at a quarter of the cost ($13 one way train ticket).

Don’t forget that all teams who participate in both Brisbane City Romp on 21 September and Melbourne City Romp on 19 October, go in the draw for a Myer Shopping Spree worth $5,000!* (see prizes page for conditions).

So become a fully fledged Romper and enter both Romps, Burnet will be doubly thankful for your support.
